Kathryn has worked in various capacities in the field of computing since 1988. She was first employed as an Analyst/Programmer by the Ministry of Defence and was responsible for the design and implementation of small computer systems for use by Supply and Movements operations worldwide. She moved on to work at the Serious Fraud Office in early 1991 and quickly became involved in the development of an in-house forensic computing facility, one of the first in the country.
As well as specialising in the forensic examination of electronic evidence Kathryn helped to introduce into the courts innovative technology for the electronic presentation of evidence in large fraud trials and also worked with the Home Office and the Law Society, providing technical input into the drafting of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001. She was secretary of a national forum for forensic computing practitioners that she helped to move forward into the international arena and has liaised with a number overseas agencies on procedures and standards in the practise of forensic computing.
Since leaving public service Kathryn has been employed in a forensic role at Vogon International and most recently Kroll Ontrack. She has a keen interest in the law and is studying for a Bachelor of Laws degree.
